A PLANNING application submitted to council is proposing to subdivide land at Cuthbert Street and O’Connor Road, Corinella, into 31 low-density residential lots.
Under the proposal, submitted by Sunset Bay Corinella Pty Ltd, the lots would be at least 2000m2 in size and be connected to reticulated sewerage.
The application also includes the creation of an easement to provide stormwater discharge for O’Connor Road and removal of native vegetation.
The subject site comprises two vacant parcels of land at the south-western end of Cuthbert Street abutting the coast along Western Port Bay, within the Corinella settlement boundary.
The subject site is currently vacant and has been used for grazing cattle.
There are no buildings or structures within the site, with the only improvements being rural post and wire fencing and small dams.
According to a town planning report, the development would also include a new roadway connecting to Cuthbert Street, for both pedestrian and vehicle movements.
“The overall character of the subdivision is aimed at creating a place that responds positively to the character of Corinella as a small boating hamlet and providing for housing choice within identified township boundaries,” the report states.
