How very disappointing to see the… message from Geoff Boer proclaiming ‘No vax, no vote’ in relation to Russell Broadbent, the federal Member for Monash (Letters, November 2).
The decision to take a vaccine, like any pharmaceutical or medical treatment, is a personal one that each individual needs to take after consulting their doctor.
Mr Broadbent is entitled to his own medical privacy and autonomy, and that should be respected by the public. We should judge him and all other politicians based on their policies and character. Invasive attacks on a person’s medical decisions have no place in a civilised democracy.
Dean Culshaw, East Bairnsdale.
Covid 19 is highly contagious and for some people it is a very serious condition that can lead to death.
So a decision by a person to not be vaccinated could lead to a situation where many people become infected and some may die.
Clearly then vaccination choice is much more than a personal decision.
