THE Mirboo North Netball Club (in the LDNA) would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported our latest stint in our beloved community op-shop.

This includes our members and friends, the op-shop committee, and especially the band of dedicated, loyal op-shop volunteers who helped us complete another successful two weeks, thank you one in all.

After op-shop duty, our attention turned to our Presentation Day held on Sunday, November 7, at the beautiful Mossvale Park.

The presentation day began with a delicious barbecue lunch cooked and presented by our treasurer Mel and registrations officer Tracie, using only hometown product from Craig Young’s Butchers, MN Bakery, MN IGA, Flowers from MN Garden Supplies and the barbecue gas coming from MN BP.

Thanks also to the two Sophies at the South Gippsland Shire Council for their support and help to make our day a success.

The Mirboo North Netball Club (MNNC) would also like to acknowledge the Mirboo North Community Bendigo Bank for their continued support.

President Wal began the formalities by welcoming everyone, saying he felt a bit like Neil Diamond, (in location only), that the fabulous Mossvale setting reminded a few of the older generation of the famous ‘Hot August Night’ concert, with our very own ‘tree people’.

First to be called and recognised were the committee members, Monique Indermaur – vice-president, Sarah Lawson – secretary, Mel Worsfold – treasurer, Tracie McColl – registrations officer, Anita Gourlay and Robyn ‘Spud’ Harris-Mitchell as our Net Set Go coordinator.

The recipient of the covered ‘Club Person of the Year’ was Spud, for her work behind the scenes as Net Set Go Coordinator along with her many years of loyal service and support to the MNNC. The MNNC send our best wishes to Spud and her family with their pending move to WA, Spud and her family’s passion for all things sport will be greatly missed throughout the entire community, good luck.
