BASS MP Jordan Crugnale last week attended the Guy Road Sod Turn to break ground on the project.
The Guy Road Shared Pathway creates a 6km long, 2.5-metre-wide shared cycling and walking link between the Corinella Community Centre, Bass Valley Primary School and Bass Valley Children’s Centre, via Tenby Point.
The pathway will link into existing pathways connecting to the Bass Highway in one direction and Coronet Bay in the other.
Ms Crugnale attended the Guy Road sod turn early last week alongside Bass Coast Shire Mayor Cr Brett Tessari, Councillors Clare Le Serve and Bruce Kent, and SR Excavations’ Brad Newton.
The $2.8 million project is equally funded by the state government’s Growing Suburbs Fund and Bass Coast Shire Council.
Bass Coast Shire Council appointed SR Excavations Pty Ltd after a competitive open tender process.
The contractor performed service locations, site mobilisation and traffic sign installation on the week commencing August 16, 2021.
The project works include:
• 750m of boardwalk.
• Approximately 4.7km of gravel paths.
• Installation of drainage and culverts.
