EMERGENCY services worked frantically on Wednesday, December 8, to free a farm worker who was trapped under a large tree branch.
The incident occurred about 1pm at a farm property in Krowera, where the man suffered serious injuries to his legs.
“He was cutting down a large tree limb, which has fallen across his legs and broken both of his lower legs,” Sergeant Michael O’Brien said.
“He was pinned by the tree but fortunately he had mobile service, as it was in a steep gully at the farm property.
“As a result, he was recovered from the tree and taken by HEMS helicopter to the Alfred Hospital.”
Sgt O’Brien said fortunately the worker didn’t sustain life-threatening injuries, and it took some time for responders to locate him.
“WorkSafe Victoria will be investigating regarding the incident,” he said.
