Section 1 best players was a four-way draw between Tayla Robb, Jo LePage, Courtney Brann and Cassidy Bowman.

THE Wonthaggi and District Netball Association was very happy to run a short social season, with 14 teams enjoying seven rounds.

It was great to just be playing again and there were some fantastic battles with close results – all in all some very polished netball.

Section 1 ‘Off the Court on the port’ were declared winners after being undefeated and finishing on top of the ladder with 28 points.

Inverloch Blue finished in second place with 22 points, followed by Sapphires 19 points, Marvels 16 points, The Chasers 16 points, Fairy Nuff 16 points, Inverloch Gold 16 points – in percentage order.

Congratulations on all teams entering and having a run and some fun.

In section 3, the top two teams happened to play each other in the last round and Bench Warmers won 18 to 16 against Lizard Queens.

Best and fairest in section 3 went to Sophie Carter and equal runners-up went to Elisha Lindsay and Ashlee Grieve.

‘All sorts’ finished third, then Panthers, Blue Sharks, Bulldogs and Polaris.

“Also to all umpires, we need you and appreciate you. W&DNA will be holding an umpires’ clinic early in 2022 so if you are thinking of becoming one or developing your skills further come along – TBA.

“W&DNA’s night netball season will start early in Feb 2022 so welcoming all teams, and hopefully for a proper season. Have a safe and exciting Christmas.”
