I am one of the oldies who volunteered for the Wonthaggi Life Savers’ coffee shop.
We made money for the club, but more importantly, it provided a place for friends to meet.
I pass many people in the main street of Wonthaggi but at Cape, friends had scones and talked, sometimes for hours – the laughter bursts occurred frequently.
The ramp provided access for people with disabilities.
When the track to the beach is built for people with disabilities, we will again put out the welcome sign.
The life savers save lives, teach water safety and the work continues, despite our difficulties.
Our coffee shop provides a family-friendly atmosphere and icy poles for the Nippers but not this year.
Please, Bass Coast Shire, resolve this as many people are missing their summer pleasure.
