Rotarians steer the way at Phillip Island Grand Prix

1 min read

AS the roar of engines filled the air at the annual Phillip Island GP, a dedicated team of volunteers in vibrant orange jackets quietly made a significant impact behind the scenes. These men and women were from the Phillip Island and San Remo Rotary Club and were on hand to ensure the smooth operation of parking for the event.

Amidst the ever-changing weather of rain, wind, and occasional bursts of sunshine, Rotarians greeted arriving guests with warm smiles and helpful assistance. Their efforts were not only a vital contribution to the event’s organisation but also a testament to the Rotary Club’s unwavering commitment to community service.

With the incredible support of fellow Rotarian Fred Reinking, head of DOME Security and a dedicated advocate for Rotary initiatives, every dollar raised through their efforts was channeled directly into Rotary community projects.

As hundreds of cars flowed into the parking areas, the Rotarians worked tirelessly, showcasing both efficiency and kindness, ensuring smooth operations while giving back to the community.

The funds raised by the club members are earmarked for a special cause: the Rotary Rehabilitation Garden, which will be constructed as part of the new Phillip Island Hospital. This project highlights the club's ongoing dedication to enhancing community health and well-being, ensuring that every pound earned contributes directly to improving lives.

As the day progressed and the excitement of the races unfolded, the contributions of these volunteers did not go unnoticed. Their hard work and dedication exemplified Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self," making a lasting impact not only at the Motor GP but also within the community.

In a world where community spirit often shines brightest during large events, the Rotarians in orange jackets serve as a reminder of how collective effort can drive positive change. As the Motor GP weekend came to a close, the success of the event was measured not only in speed and competition but also in the generosity and commitment of those who worked behind the scenes.
