Inverloch inundation

1 min read

Editor: DEECA’s storm tide inundation map of Inverloch shows small areas on the western and eastern edges of Inverloch that may be impacted by temporary inundation as sea levels rise but predict that only one per cent of the town’s general residential area will be impacted by permanent inundation out to 2100 indicating that barriers would protect property from events. This is one of the latest maps from DEECA. The writer asks if these maps are up to date.

Are inundation maps up to date

I would encourage you to see if you can find further information regarding the predictions of water levels in the Coast-to-Coast project.

We have moved back to the area, choosing to purchase in Inverloch, but a reliable contact told us not to purchase near the water and that the current “public” data is not up to date and the new data is worse.

I don’t understand why the Coast-to-Coast report wouldn’t update this information for the public as asking for feedback on incorrect data is a waste of time for everyone.
