‘Best ever’ Cowes Carols by the Bay, they say

1 min read

THE Island Voice’s Carols By The Bay event at Cowes last Tuesday December 10 was “the best ever”, they said.

No argument there! The weather was superb, the musical entertainment varied, highlighted by the Cowes Primary School Choir, plenty of action for the kids off-stage and Santa arriving on cue via the historic Phillip Island Fire Brigade fire truck.

And the fireworks, wow! Not only could you see them from any vantage point in Cowes, they were also visible, as they lit up the summer sky from San Remo and elevated locations on the Island.

“We had a terrific line-up of local talent on stage, along with rides, face-painting, hair colourist, photo-booth and animal nursery to amuse the younger members of the community,” said one of the organisers Linda Marston of Island Voice.

She also thanked the night’s sponsors including the Bendigo Bank, the Phillip Island RSL, Bass Coast Shire Council, Panny’s Chocolates, Archisign, The Phillip Island Advertiser, COG AudioVisual, Westernport Water, Rotary and North Pier Hotel “for their ongoing support of this wonderful community event”.

“Without their support we could not run a free event of this standard for the community,” she said, noting the group had received plenty of wonderful feedback from the authorities including the police, and from the community.

Members of the ‘Sisters and Misters’ choir gets the show started at Carols By The Bay ion Cowes last Tuesday night.
