Explore the Bass Coast for the Great Witch Hunt

IT’S the month of Halloween, which means it’s time for the Great Witch Hunt!

This year there are 65 witches on display in businesses right across the Bass Coast Shire, so grab a $5 ticket to start the hunt. This event is hosted annually by the Grantville Business and Community Association (GBCA) - a volunteer run not-for-profit with all funds raised returned to the community.

Vice-president Neroli Heffer said the aim of the event is to showcase local businesses and encourage participants to explore the Bass Coast area and support local.

“Purchase your ticket online or collect a printed copy from a Visitor Information Centre in Inverloch, Newhaven, at Artspace in Wonthaggi or from Maru Koala and Animal Park in Grantville,” Neroli explained.

“Once you have your ticket start hunting - use the map to locate each witch and write down the unique identification code, then return your completed ticket to any of the above or email it back.”

Find 20 witches in three different towns and go into the draw to win a range of great prizes, including family accommodation for two nights at the Kilcunda Oceanview Holiday Park, or keep hunting and find 60 witches to automatically enter a second bonus draw!

"Not only does this event showcase local businesses, but it’s great for all ages and it's always exciting to see what the witches get up to each year! We have some very creative business owners who have lots of fun moving the witches around their business,” said Neroli.
