1 min read

A PARTNERSHIP between the South Gippsland Garlic Festival and the Korumburra and District Agricultural Society has been formed to stage the Garlic Festival next year.

The South Gippsland Garlic Festival Committee (SGGGFC) was pleased to announce that Korumburra has recently been selected as the host township for the highly anticipated return of the Garlic Festival in 2025.

This exciting decision comes after much deliberation and consideration.

Joel White President of the SGGFC said,

“Korumburra was chosen for its community spirit, vibrant business community and convenient location being just 90 minutes from Melbourne. As well the submission and enthusiasm from the Korumburra A&P society. The facilities at the Korumburra show grounds will provide the foundations for a great regional festival.”

The festival is renowned for celebrating all things garlic and promoting local agriculture and the South Gippsland region.

It brings together garlic enthusiasts, food lovers and families to savour delicious food, live music, cooking demonstrations, the renowned Garlic University and much more.

The committee is thrilled to partner with Korumburra to showcase this picturesque region, local agriculture and producers.

Korumburra A&P Society president Danial Robbins said, “Korumburra A&P Society fully support the decision by SGGF to utilise the Korumburra showgrounds as the new venue for the garlic festival as we see it as a great initiative and event bringing tourism and vibrancy to Korumburra.”

The South Gippsland Garlic Festival Committee will host its AGM in early September where they will call for volunteers to form an extended committee to execute the event.

In the lead up to the event in March a call out for local volunteers to ensure the success of the event. Join us as we celebrate community, creativity, and all things garlic!
