Grim start to week for Korumburra Secondary students

1 min read

Korumburra Secondary students experienced a grim start to the week yesterday morning as an unfortunate incident unfolded where an elderly gentlemen died at the school's bus loop.

Principal of the KSC posted a letter to the school community after confirming information about the incident with police.

In the letter posted on Monday August 26, Principal Wilson stated:

I am aware of reports tonight of a deceased person in our bus loop today. I've spoken with Korumburra Police this evening, who have been able to confirm the details of this with me.

At around 8am this morning, a local lady was driving her husband to Wonthaggi hospital. As they were driving past our school, he had a medical episode. To help manage this, she pulled into our bus loop where, unfortunately, the elderly man passed away.

Police were called and attended, and all has now been cleared.

Our thoughts are with the wife and the family of the deceased man at this time and anyone else affected by this.

Our school community should be aware that this state situation has now been cleared and our school operations will continue as normal tomorrow morning.

Condolences’ to the gentleman’s family.
