TWELVE people have won the division one prize in Lotto’s New Year’s Eve Megadraw and one of them is a mystery winner from Wonthaggi.

Geo and Robyn Fantin at Lucky Lotto Wonthaggi Plaza posted an “ecstatic” message on Facebook on New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023, celebrating the news.

“We are ecstatic to announce that our outlet sold a Division 1 entry for $3,333,333.34 in last night's NYE $40 Million Megadraw. A massive congratulations from our team to the lucky winner.”

Speaking to the Sentinel-Times today, Robyn said it was the fourth Division One ticket they had sold in the nine years that they have owned the Wonthaggi Plaza agency.

"It's our fourth Division One, but by far our biggest. They don't tell us who it is but we're delighted that one of our customers has won a big prize. It's pretty exciting."

It was great news for the family-owned business but even more so for the super-lucky winner from Wonthaggi and district (we hope)!

The dozen people will split $40 million, meaning each wins more than $3.3m.

The winning numbers were 11, 20, 23, 35, 42 and 45 and the supplementary numbers were 8 and 38.

The Lott spokesperson James Eddy said winning a share of division one in the $40 million jackpot would certainly put a spring in your step heading into 2023.

“Megadraws in previous years have created more millionaires in a single night than any other draw,” said Eddy, and this year’s draw was no different.

Last year’s New Year’s Eve Megadraw saw 17 division one winning entries share the jackpot, with each entry enjoying just over $2 million in prize money.
