PILOT of the Flying Fluff, Simone Dawson made a life changing friend; a friend who lost her battle to stage 4 metastatic cancer, and in memory, Simone is determined to raise funds for the Love Your Sister charity and in doing so welcomes the community to be part of the Birdman Rally 2025 fundraiser.
In support of the charity fundraiser, The Wonthaggi Club are behind Simone and generously making a donation from every parmigiana and new membership from now until February 14.
Then kicking off on February 15, Simone welcomes the community to Wonthaggi Power from 11am until 2pm for a day filled with fun and laughter. “It's a day to celebrate community spirit and support a great cause as we get behind our team the Flying Fluff who are competing in this year’s Birdman Rally.
“We are excited to have Jess Geyer perform for us. She is honoured to play for an event that raises money for a charity that gives 100% of donations received to research!” said Simone.
So, get ready for a day filled with entertainment, food, and drinks, all for a great cause. Each ticket includes a $10 donation to charity, entertainment, nibbles throughout the event and your chance to be a winner of the major door prize.
“Drinks are available for purchase with $1 from every drink sale going to charity, so mark your calendars and get ready to make a difference!”
The day event is for all ages, but into the night, Simone welcomes over 18’s for the Love Your Sister Birdman Rally charity night featuring 820 Door Jams. The doors open at The Cally Hotel from 8pm until midnight and this is a ‘Party with a Purpose’.
“Come dance the night away,” said Simone.
"The band are so honoured to be a part of this community event. Love Your Sister is such an amazing charity with a focus on improving treatment for regional and rural Australia.
“We will also Auction off the last two wristbands for the family and friends spot so that you can get up close to all the action on the Yarra for the Birdman Rally.”
Love Your Sister is Australia's hardest-working cancer vanquishing charity, and since its inception in 2012 has raised $20 million for medical research.
Join the community for a night of music, laughter, and giving back. High End Riff Raff are out to make it a night that you will never forget with awesome pub rock covers. As the band says, "We are all touched by cancer. We love that this event brings people together to celebrate and raises money for such an incredible charity. We know Sam has won the Birdman before so we hope that Simone can do the same in 2025."

Then looking on to March 9 from 11am until 2pm, Simone invites the community to join at Wonthaggi Power to cheer on the local team at the Birdman Rally 2025!

“We'll be live streaming the event so you can watch all the action. Get ready to witness some amazing flights and hilarious crashes as competitors take the plunge off the platform in their homemade flying machines.”
