A CHARITY event will be held in Korumburra for Beyond Blue to honour the life of Rohan Treacy who sadly lost his battle against mental health earlier this year.

Organisers Molly Patten, Jack Gilchrist and Alma Morrison are working with Ben Fisher from The Middle Hotel and Trudy Cairns from the Austral Hotel.

All funds raised on the day will be donated directly to Beyond Blue, and they have already raised more than $5500 just from social media.

The fundraiser, to be held on February 25, will be a whole day event at three separate venues with a range of activities for all ages to enjoy:

• The first event is a Beyond Blue Breaky at Pure Fitness Korumburra from 9am – 12pm where they will have a range of games and activities for everyone to join in including a jumping castle and face painting. They are looking for teams of six who are wanting to join in on this event – team members will take turns in 5 minute intervals and build up a sweat for a good cause! The entry fee for those wanting to participate is $25 per person and all funds go directly to Beyond Blue. If you’re not one for exercising, come along and support the teams, grab some breakfast and enjoy the morning.

• At 1pm, The Middle Hotel have a guest speaker to chat about mental health as well as a discounted lunch and a silent auction, plus a visit from Bluey for the kids. The Middle are donating half the cost of lunch to Beyond Blue so come on down, grab a bite to eat and support a good cause.

• Finishing at The Austral Hotel from 5pm onwards, Jack Patten will be shaving his beloved mullet for a good cause and there will be a goods and services auction and raffle downstairs before they head upstairs to dance the night away to live music from Lionel Loves Vinyl and again, all proceeds on the night are going directly to Beyond Blue.

Donations for the event are also being sought such as goods, services, soft drinks and meat for a barbecue.

Organisers have donation boxes available for business counters and they are happy to collect donations, or they can be dropped off at the gym (Pure Fitness).
