IF YOU’RE looking for some fun educational events to cover in Bass Coast such as Fermenting and Preserving, Healthy Soils or Home Battery Storage we have a suite of events planned for 2025!

Are you interested in growing veggies? Do you want to learn about solar panels and home batteries? Are you trying to live a more sustainable life?

Bass Coast Shire Council is excited to launch Living Lightly Bass Coast - a series of workshops to help you learn new skills to live more sustainably.

The workshops come under four different themes: Energy Evolution, Future Foods, Garden Gems and Circular Solutions and build on the success of last year’s Garden Gems program and Sustainable Living Series.

Workshops will be presented by experts that will focus on making homes and communities more affordable, sustainable and resilient.

Among the events are:

  • Fermenting & Preserving - March 15 10am Wonthaggi Community Garden (BCAL)
  • Healthy Soils - March 23 PICAL 10am Community Garden Cowes
  • Circular Economy at Home - March 29 PICAL 10am Community Garden Cowes
  • All Electric Homes - Online event April 3 6pm
  • Veggie Patch to Plate - Garden Group Wonthaggi Men's Shed 10am April 13
  • Introduction to Peraculture - Phillip Island Community Orchard 10am April 19
