IT was fascinators and hats at Bass Coast Adult Learning's (BCAL's) last week as the NDIS photography and art groups joined forces for a spectacular Melbourne Cup fashions parade to celebrate the tradition of fashion and fascinators.
“The idea came from Tanya,” Geoff Ellis explained.
“Any reason to dress up!”
While the 'Discovering Art' group ran an amazing hat making workshop, people from across the campus joined in the parade for BCAL's 'Thru the Lens' camera group to practise portrait and group photography.
Over twenty people attended as Kate, Josh and Geoff recorded the parade in stills and on video.
Deb, Bill, Lisa, Tanya, Allison, Erin, Fiona, Mon, Mel, Shelley and Kate’s hairdressing team hit the parade as individuals from the Spanish Class also jumped on board, and Josh even made a special appearance between takes.
“An excellent party – I liked all of it,” Tanya smiled recalling the day.
“Loved being behind the camera,” both Kate and Josh exclaimed.
Prizes were awarded Wednesday, November 2, and the best photos will be exhibited on the BCAL Gallery Wall. As well as the usual categories awards were made for 'Gumption', 'Sustainability' and 'Prudence'.
Josh’s parade video is available on Facebook and Instagram at bcadultlearning.
The BCAL Gallery Wall ‘Melbourne Cup Parade Exhibition’ grand opening will be on Wednesday (November 9); pop down after 11am to see the fun and laughter caught on camera.
