Residents commit to Australia

1 min read

FIVE South Gippsland Shire residents became Aussies on Wednesday night in Leongatha, coming from four different countries.

Lance Kirkwood Fraser migrated from Zimbabwe to be closer to his kids and friends who had happily settled here.

Now Outtrim-based, he enjoys the countryside, particularly on a warm sunny day, as well as South Gippsland’s towns and villages with their eateries, pubs and communal events, and the region’s friendly people.

Kiwi Kim Rochelle Kirkus came to Australia on holiday to visit her family.

She has settled in Tarwin Lower.

South Gippsland reminds her of home and is the perfect place to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Kim and her family love visiting local beaches, walking the Great Southern Rail Trail, exploring Wilsons Promontory, and sitting and listening to local wildlife.

Foster’s Wan Ching Chang moved from Taiwan to Australia and met her husband who works in the town.

She enjoys the friendly community, arts, rolling hills and beautiful places in Wilsons Prom.

New Zealander David Barry Groenendaal was drawn to Australia by work and lifestyle opportunities.

He has bought a house in Walkerville because he enjoys the beach and parks.

The other new citizen, originally from the United States, did not wish to feature in the paper.
