BASS Coast Shire Council is advising that Kongwak Road, Glen Alvie is closed.
Through routine bridge inspections, the shire has found severe damage to the Kongwak Road culvert across Lance Creek at Glen Alvie.
Engineers have advised Council to close the road immediately.
Kongwak Road will be closed to through traffic but local residents will still be able to access their properties from either side of the culvert.
Detours will be established soon with onsite traffic management.
Council is working to repair the damage and re-open the road to through traffic as soon as possible.
