Police reported non-life threatening injuries to an unknown number of people from the two cars.
It is understood that a car trying to cross the highway has been T-boned by a car on the highway causing extensive damage to both vehicles
Bass Highway blocked at Soldiers Road to Melbourne bound traffic. A detour is in place. Southbound lanes of the Bass Highway are open and clear.
