1 min read

THE Southern Gippsland Junior Football League season is done and dusted for another season with Leongatha emerging as thrilling winners in the Under 12s over Phillip Island by two points and Phillip Island coming through with a strong win in the Under 14s, by four goals on an ideal day for footy at Wonthaggi.

Leongatha’s Beau Elkin was named best on ground in under 12s but it could just as easily have gone to 10 or a dozen other players from both sides, such was their commitment to the contest.

Final Under 12s score: Leongatha 3.2.20 def Phillip Island 3.0.18

In the Under 14s final, Phillip Island played a good brand of football to extend its lead over Inverloch-Kongwak and go on to the convincing win.

Phillip Island’s Charlie Fischer was named best afield in under 14s grand final.
