An April fool’s joke?

Sentinel Times April 1 Page 23 (Leonard pledges support strategy to support farmers and agriculture)

I THOUGHT I was reading an April fool’s joke when I came across an article (SGST pg 23 April 1) where the teal party candidate for Monash pledged her support for farmers and agriculture, in particular, supporting farmers rights, reducing red tape and having a voice at all levels of government.

Given the well-known Green/left disdain for farmers and rural communities, I found Ms Leonard’s comments in the article to be at best disingenuous.

Ms Leonard and her teal party are, amongst other things, a political mouthpiece for the renewable energy industry and enjoy massive financial support from a number of Australia’s most prominent renewable energy subsidy grifters. The bullying and coercive tactics employed by the renewables industry against farmers and small rural communities all over Australia has resulted in many long-standing relationships being irreparably damaged, ongoing neighbourhood disputes and communities being divided.

In the event that Ms Leonard is the successful candidate in the upcoming election, I have no doubt that in the event of a dispute between farmers/rural communities and the renewables industry, Ms

Leonard would side with her ideological bedfellows and financial backers. Farmers would once again be left to fight their own battles.

The last thing we need is a lame duck serving a dish of motherhood statements just to win a few votes.
