From the heart of a Mum

AS DEB Leonard’s mum, I couldn’t be prouder of who she is, what she stands for, and her current journey as an independent for Monash. Deb has always had a huge heart for helping people and a practical drive to get things done.

Deb’s commitment to serving our community shines through in everything she does. I’ve watched her grow from a determined young girl into a dedicated community lawyer, successful small business owner, and above all, a devoted mum.

Deb’s always been a fighter for what she believes in. At 12 years old, while president of the junior committee of the Phillip Island Pony Club she persuaded the senior committee (us parents) that we should hold an event for everyone to come to Phillip Island to compete. Much against our will we slowly succumbed and the Inaugural Phillip Island Pony Club Combined Training Day was held. It has been held every year since!

Throughout this campaign, I’ve seen Deb work tirelessly. She’s been out in the community every day, listening to concerns and ideas, and coming up with practical solutions.

This is the same approach she’ll take as Monash’s representative. She won’t be the kind of MP you are used to who does nothing and then shows up at election time.

Deb has had a lot of misinformation thrown around about her this campaign, but I believe the people of Monash can see Deb for who she is – a genuine independent and a hardworking, wonderful representative we can count on to fight for us.

Jenny Leonard, proud mum, Cape Woolamai
