THE action is heating up on day two of the World Superbikes at Phillip Island. This morning, the Australian Supersport 300 riders hit the track for Race 2 (1: Jordy Simpson (SA) 14:47.247, 2: Hudson Thompson (NSW) +0.018, 3: Scott Nicholson (Vic) +0.031), while the Australian Supersport competitors kicked off Race 1 (1: Archie McDonald (NSW) 14:21.619, 2: Jack Mahaffy (VIC) +0.247, 3: Tom Bramich (VIC) +5.553). Meanwhile, Race 1 of the Australian Superbikes has just been won by Victorian rider Josh Waters for McMartin Racing who led the charge on his Ducati 4.404 seconds ahead of Anthony West (QLD) and Mike Jones (QLD) +4.421.
Looking ahead, the Tissot Superpole for WorldSBK gets underway very soon at 1pm, setting the stage for an action-packed afternoon featuring Australian Supersport Race 2, as well as Race 1 for both WorldSSP and WorldSBK.
