Classics shine at Wonthaggi Rec

1 min read

A RAFT of Australia Day events across Bass Coast and car shows around Victoria did not deter Wonthaggi Show n’ Shine and Swap Meet attendees on Sunday. The display may have been slightly lighter than previous years, but the foot traffic was anything but.

There was an impressive display of cars around the ground, and on it, with food stalls filling empty bellies, whilst friendly negotiations and a bargain were found in the Swap Meet.

And whilst there were the favourite regular cars on display there were also those new to Wonthaggi with an impressive lineup of locals securing most of the awards – for side note, judges were not aware.

“It’s been a great turnout and beautiful weather,” co-coordinator Gavin explained.

“Thank you to the people who turned up and the stallholders as well.

“We love seeing the same cars over the years and also the new ones.

“And, we’d particularly like to thank the judges from South Gippsland Historical Automobile Club and those who have helped us pull off the event today.”
