A MALE in his 20s has been rescued from Inverloch cliffs in a joint operation by firefighters and SES members after finding himself in trouble this morning around 11.20am.
Inverloch CFA responded to the location 200 yards from the car park to Inverloch where the uninjured man was approximately 20 feet down the cliff face.
Inverloch Second Lieutenant Williamson explained that the brigade initially got a radio to the male for communications purposes with the assistance of Wonthaggi CFA, Inverloch SES, Wonthaggi SES and Phillip Island SES before the arrival of FRV Morwell's 'Tech Rescue' Response Unit, who performed the extraction.
Once safely back on higher ground the male was checked by Ambulance Victoria paramedics and given the all clear.
Local police also attended and helped block the road whilst the rescue was undertaken.
Quadriplegic rescued on Cape Paterson-Inverloch Road
EMERGENCY responders came to the aid of a 42-year-old male from Glengary, when his wheelchair became trapped in sand and seaweed on Thursday, March 14 around 12.18pm.
The alarm was raised by the male’s carer along Cape Paterson-Inverloch Road (near the RACV resort) as the tide had started coming in.
Wonthaggi and Inverloch Police attended and Inverloch SES extricated the male.
Uninjured Ambulance Victoria did not attend.
