Nature in all its Glory Embroidery Exhibition at Leongatha

1 min read

‘NATURE in all its Glory' is the theme of this year’s Embroiderers Guild, Leongatha Branch Exhibition that showcases the skills and talent of local embroiderers and textile artists.

Many extraordinary pieces that have been painstakingly crafted by dedicated embroiderers and artists over many months will be on display at the Dakers Centre in Leongatha Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

Attendees will be treated to special displays, quilt and embroidery demonstrations, with boutique items for sale.

“It is an art form,” explains Leongatha Branch President June McIndoe

“You're basically painting a picture with a thread.”

An array of embroidery methods will be on display, think colourful quilts, cards, pouches, book covers, table runners, wall hangings, 3D flowers and gold leaves all with intricate designs and patterns limited only to the imagination and patience of the creator.

These exhibitions are held by the Leongatha Branch every two years, with the previous exhibition seeing over 500 people coming through the doors on the first day alone.

Devonshire Tea will be available at the event and entry is by gold coin donation.

Held at the Dakers Centre, 23 Smith Street, Leongatha, Saturday 11 to Sunday 12, 10am to 4pm.
