3 min read

BIRDS of Tokyo, Boy & Bear, The Cat Empire and more are coming to Phillip Island for Ocean Sounds Festival on Saturday January 11, 2025!

Join us for picnic rugs, smiling friends, stunning local wines, gourmet food, the summer-sun softly setting over the ocean and some of Australia’s most amazing live music.

Returning for its eighth festival edition, Ocean Sounds is an annual family-friendly, music-lovers’ all-day sunset concert series that will take place on the beautiful Phillip Island this summer.

We're thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, we will have not one, not two, but three incredible festival headliners!

Together, they have achieved 30 ARIA nominations, 36 triple j Hottest 100 entries and over 700 million streams.

Birds of Tokyo have grown from independent roots to become one of Australia's most popular contemporary rock bands. Songs like "Plans", "Lanterns", "This Fire", "Anchor" and "I'd Go With You Anywhere" have all been top 10 airplay hits and have led to appearances at every major festival in this country, as well as headlining slots at the AFL Grand Final and NRL's flagship State of Origin game.

More than seventy Birds of Tokyo songs have featured on triple j, making them one of the station's three most played artists of this millennium. The band are also the only artist in history to win "Rock Work Of The Year" on five separate occasions at the prestigious APRA Awards.

Boy & Bear have attained a level of staying power that most artists could only dream of; and all whilst maintaining their authentic vision and driving love for their craft. Achieving early career support from triple j Boy & Bear swiftly catapulted onto the world stage releasing their double-platinum debut album Moonfire in 2011, which went on to snag five coveted ARIA award wins. 2013's Harlequin Dream and 2015's Limit of Love strengthened Boy & Bear's expansive presence, with both albums charting at #1, and Harlequin Dream marking the group's second studio album to go Platinum. From 2019's Suck on Light to 2023's self-titled full length (both top 10 albums), Boy & Bear have continued to evolve and grow, gaining more and more fans from across the globe.

In addition to their five consecutive top 10 albums and over 250 million streams, Boy & Bear's live show is a uniquely compelling experience and has earned the band the glowing reputation as one of Australia's most outstanding live acts.

Aussie icons The Cat Empire have had an illustrious career, spanning decades and genres. Illuminating stages across the globe, the band are a magnetic force that have captivated millions of adoring fans with their high energy performances and explosive sound and visuals!

With the band’s infectious groove and vibrancy, audiences are guaranteed to shimmy, shake, and sing their way through a Cat Empire set.
