AFTER recently celebrating her 100th birthday, local resident Esmeralda Langhorne may have been one of the last recipients to receive a letter from the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Ms Langhorne said it was an honour and privilege to receive a letter from the late Queen.

“I have loved and admired her Majesty from a very early age. Her contribution to world affairs and society in general cannot be measured,” she said.

“Her Majesty had an immense presence throughout her reign.

“Queen Elizabeth II had good grace and class that I have admired throughout her life.

“The letter I have received will last for many generations - something to cherish and I am sure my family will honour it with pride.

“When Queen Elizabeth II visited Australia, it was always a good news story - a true Monarch with beautiful class and dignity.

“It has been a special privilege to have lived with a great lady, the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

Esmeralda had celebrated her milestone birthday surrounded by her loving family at the Wonthaggi Workmens Club earlier this month.
