THERE’S still a hive of activity around the town today as power is progressively returned to the town’s most damaged areas and the clear-up continues.
The South Gippsland Shire Council has established a relief point at the Mirboo North and District Community Foundation at 96 Ridgway, Mirboo North which is open between 9am and 4pm now providing a centre for information on the cleanup and recovery and also helping residents to connect with relevant agencies.
The shire has also released an update on all issues around the storm and recovery, providing details on where to get showers, wash clothes, emotional support and more, see link below.
There you will also find information to support the communities of Poowong and Nyora.
Also, Victoria Police are encouraging motorbike riders headed for Phillip Island for this week’s World Superbike racing to find alternate routes to the Island, but inevitably, motorbike riders will still be coming through the town in significant numbers on Thursday and returning on Sunday and Monday.
