Angus auctioned for Biggest Morning Tea

ACACIA, a well-credentialled Angus heifer from Wattlewood Angus in Lang Lang fetched a very credible $9100 at the cattle stud’s Autumn bull sale in aid of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea.

“I’m a little overwhelmed,” said Fiona Glover from Wattlewood Angus.

With keen bidding defying the current dry conditions in South Gippsland and Bass Coast the top Wattlewood bull sold quickly for $10,500.

A total of 35 lots were often for sale including the ‘pick of the pair’ a choice between two heifers offered at auction for charity.

Wattlewood Acacia was described as phenotypically correct with loads of functionality and natural muscle, while Wattlewood Barunah was listed as super feminine with terrific feet and leg structure in a classic wedge shape package.

Successful buyers Karen Carter and Owen Cambridge of Kinlock Angus Hedley were more than pleased with their purchase knowing the proceeds would be donated to Korumburra’s Biggest Morning Tea to aid cancer research.

The auction held in conjunction with Elders Delaney, SEJ agents and the Wattlewood team proved to be an outstanding success and was followed by a delicious beef roll lunch.
