DARRIMAN’S Brenton Kuch has just strolled out on to our TV screens in Channel 7’s 2023 Farmer Wants a Wife and the journey has begun.
Brenton, a beef farmer from Darriman east of Yarram, is the Victorian contestant on this year’s Farmer Wants a Wife and he’s already made a strong start.
“Wow you’d never see this many girls at Darriman let alone someone who was interested in you,” said Brenton as he was invited by the host, Samantha Armytage, to check out a room full of beautiful, smiling, happy girls.
Samantha described Brenton as “the shy one” and while he agreed be wasn’t much of a talker, he was going to do his best to come out of his shell.
“Brenton, are you ready to fall in love?” asked Samantha.
“Yes, for sure, At 26 it’s the right time in my life to get married and have kids. A lot of my mates have already got married and I’m probably the last one left, so for sure.
“My mates say I’m not that romantic but things can change and I’m sure they will.”
“Sounds like my husband,” lamented Samantha with a smile.
Brenton was invited to go out and meet his prospective partners and to make “the hardest decision of his life” and invite five of them to come home with him.
“I’m feeling so scared, petrified really. It could be a very important time of my life,” he said as he met his first prospective partner, Rachel.
Brenton acknowledged it was nerve-wracking and thanked Western Australian Rachel for helping him get through his first speed date.
In the end, he selected Rachel, Frankie, Sophie, Brianna and Emily, noting that it was a super tough decision and would happily have taken all eight of his girls home.
Gippslanders might find the season of Farmer Wants a Wife this year more interesting Brenton and his girls visit lots of nearby locations where filming was undertaken towards the end of last year, including a much-publicised visit to the Leongatha Saleyards on a store cattle sale day when the Kuch family had several pens of their cattle on offer, famously auctioneered by Brian McCormack of Nutrien Ag Solutions.
