“The Stanleys” awards

‘GROB’ also known as Glenn Robinson is a talented published cartoonist who was recently part of the 2023 Australian Cartoonists Association Awards - known as “The Stanleys” - named after Australian cartoonist Stan Cross.

Glenn submitted five pieces to the 2023 awards in three categories. The award categories are inclusive of editorial, single gag, joke cartoon, comic strip and mostly recently included a comic book section.

“The missing racehorse cartoon was one of four cartoons I submitted to the “Single Gag” category, while the other four cartoons were submitted to the “Editorial” section,” said Glenn.

Glenn attended the conference and awards night held in Melbourne, uniting with likeminded artists in the world of animation.

The Stanley’s Yearbook is assembled annually with the artwork from members of the Australian Cartoonists Association – all works are then judged by fellow artists, with a nomination of ‘Cartoonist of the Year.’

Look out for ‘GROB’ artwork in the Sentinel Times. Glenn’s artistic talent puts creative humour on heavy topics in local and international news.
