POLICE are on the scene of a serious incident on Campbell Road, Wonthaggi on Sunday afternoon, March 2.

The road has been closed, between Baxters Drive and Chisholm Road, while police and ambulance are on the scene.

Police Media has provided the following details:

Emergency Services responded to a collision in Wonthaggi on Sunday, March 2

It is believed a woman was walking her dog on Campbell Street around 3.45pm when she was struck by a vehicle.

The yet to be formally identified woman was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition. The male driver of the vehicle is assisting police.
