THIEVES have hit Inverloch Cricket Club for the second time this month.

Leading Senior Constable Andy Schrape confirmed the maintenance shed to the left of the club rooms was broken into with a screwdriver, or a similar tool causing damage to the lock.

“The first burglary took place between Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21 where power tools, a fuel container and a Stihl battery pack were stolen from the maintenance shed,” said Ldg Snr Const Schrape.

The second incident took place on Monday, June 27, at around 2pm, and 7:30am on Tuesday, June 28, when a grounds committee member reported the incident to the Inverloch Police, after being notified by a bystander walking their dog on the cricket grounds.

President of the Inverloch Cricket Club Paul Woods was disappointed to hear of another break-in at the community club that is run by volunteers.

Police also confirmed that an unregistered blue trailer was taken from the shed on June 27, along with a yellow cub cadet mower and a Husqvarna mower, equipment that Mr Woods confirmed was donated to the club.

Ldr Snr Const Schrape urged anyone that witnessed suspicious activity at Thompson Reserve to contact Crime Stoppers or Inverloch Police Station.
