Police impersonator and spate of thefts in Yarram

YARRAM Police have interviewed a 44-year-old man from the Yarram area in relation to impersonating a police officer.

Investigations are ongoing with the man expected to be summonsed to court at a later date.

Yarram Police members and detectives at the Wellington Criminal Investigation Unit also executed a search at a rural Yarram property on July 13, following a spate of alleged burglaries at the Yarram Secondary School, the Golf Club, Dunkley’s Machinery, Yarram Aerodrome and other private properties.

Police acted on valuable information from the community which resulted in the recovery of a large amount of allegedly stolen property from the address.

This included three trailers of stolen tools and property, pressure cleaners, a motorbike, there E-Bikes, push bikes which are amongst other items.

The trailers were also stolen as part of this offending.

A 32-year-old Rosebud male was arrested in Morwell regarding these matters, and he was remanded in custody.

He was interviewed for the Yarram incidents and other offending elsewhere.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police would like to thank the community as it was their pivotal information that helped police piece together everything, and encourage residents to continue to report crime as it is happening.
