Two teenagers arrested after aggravated burglary

BASS Coast Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two teenagers following an aggravated burglary in Leongatha on Wednesday, August 7.

It is alleged the pair snuck into a property McCartin Street using the doggy door earlier that morning.

They allegedly stole car keys and fled the scene in the victim's Hyundai Sonata.

With the assistance of Air Wing, police located the pair and the stolen Hyundai near Hallston Road in Hallston.

Both teenagers were arrested at the scene without incident.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with a number of offences including theft of a motor vehicle, theft, criminal damage, handle stolen goods and obtain property by deception. He was bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A second 14-year-old has been released pending further enquiries.
