Meet Ben Townsend: Elders real estate agent for rural properties in South Gippsland

REAL Estate goes beyond sales; it’s about building relationships and creating connections. Nowhere is this more evident than selling rural properties and land, because here it’s not just about buying a parcel of land, but about embracing a whole new lifestyle, and local agent Ben Townsend of Elders Real Estate is dedicated to finding that perfect fit.

Elders in Leongatha and Korumburra, specialise in the sale of rural property and land in South Gippsland and surrounding areas, and recently welcomed Ben to the sales team.

With a strong background in sales, Ben brings knowledge and expertise in the agriculture industry, helping his clients navigate the complexities of buying and selling rural properties.

“My family-in-law have been involved in real estate and property development for their entire careers, so I have a long connection with the industry. I have been in the textile sales industry around Australia, managing agriculture and industrial textiles,” said Ben.

“Only recently stepping into the real estate market in April this year, the team at Elders provide an endless amount of training; training that covers environmental regulations, local zoning laws as well as changes in the industry.”

Ben shared that it’s his passion for the rural lifestyle and the conversations with each client that help him develop a deeper understanding of the local market and taking on a significant role in managing a vast geographical area within the real estate sector is a challenge that he is valuing so far.

South Gippsland spans Bunurong and Gunaikurnai Country and is a superior setting for farming; home to farmers working livestock and meticulously caring for crops. As a resident of South Gippsland himself, Ben shared that despite the change in the market, good-quality properties are still attracting buyers.

“It is certainly always about having a realistic price on the sale. To each vendor the love and hard work they have put into the land will always be worth more and coming into spring – it’s a good time for growth.”

“Farmers all around the country look at the rail fall in this area, and it is quite attractive to them,” said Ben. “The business is still there we just have to turn over a few more stones.”

To Ben, this industry is about being on the land and speaking with real people.

Committed to providing exceptional service to his clients and ensuring a smooth and successful transaction every step of the way, whether you are looking to buy or sell a farm, acreage, or rural land, Ben is determined to help his vendors achieve their goals.
