ARCHIE Smyth is a talented swimmer who was recently selected for the Victorian Talent Squad.

In the past year, he has won 13 state and country titles.

On top of this, he has broken the LC Country records for 12yr-boys 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly and the LC State 12yr-boys 100m Backstroke. 

Archie is looking forward to the sessions, especially training in the 50-metre high-quality pools. 

“I’m really proud to have been selected for Victoria’s Junior talent squad. It’s an amazing reward for my hard work at training and my racing over the long course season. I’m looking forward to training with people I normally swim against, and being inspired by the guest speakers that come and tell us their stories and pathways that have helped them become Olympic swimmers,” he said. 

Archie trains six sessions a week in the pool in Wonthaggi as well as gym and stretching sessions. 

He is looking forward to sharing what he learns with his teammates back at the club.
