Final Round of 2024/25 Victorian Open Titles set for Cape Woolamai this Sunday

1 min read

THE third and final round of the Victorian Open Titles presented by Kieser Australia is set to be held this coming Sunday at Cape Woolamai and will crown State Champions for the 2024/25 season.

After the cancellation of the second round of the Victorian Open Titles on the Mornington Peninsula due to strong winds and large swell, the race for State Titles and a spot in the Rip Curl Pro Trials will be fought out on the world class beach break of Cape Woolamai.

With top ranked Xavier Huxtable (Jan Juc) not competing this weekend, it has left the race wide open with a chance for Willis Droomer (Jan Juc), Joel Wookey (Mornington Peninsula) and Tim Birnie (Torquay) to all take the Open State Title.

On the Women's side of the draw, Ava Holland (Mornington Peninsula) will be the surfer to watch as the top seed heading into the final round. She will face fierce competition from fellow Mornington Peninsula surfers in Sara Hickson and Sarsha Pancic who are both in with a chance to take the State Title.

“We are looking forward to seeing an incredible finish at Phillip Island for the Victorian Open Series presented by Kieser" said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

"After unfortunately cancelling the previous round, everything will be on the line at the final round. Good luck to all competitors as they battle for a spot in the Rip Curl Pro Trials!"

In the instance of a tie on the final rankings for state champion, a surf off will be held with the top two surfers at the conclusion of the final event on Phillip Island.

The series is the pathway event to the Rip Curl Pro Victorian Trials, giving one Victorian a spot in the main event at the Rip Curl Pro in both Mens and Womens divisions.
