Graham celebrates 250 parkrun milestone

INVERLOCH parkrun regular Graham Facey hit a magnificent milestone on Saturday, reaching 250 parkruns in total.

Graham was at the third Inverloch parkrun in 2014 and hit this milestone after 10 years.

He was introduced to parkrun by his unstoppable cousin Ina Kelly.

Graham is in the 85-89 age group, and has a personal best time of 40.50, which he has achieved twice, in both 2016 and 2017.

Graham has also volunteered 17 times.

He joined 139 others on Saturday who completed parkrun in drizzly conditions, with several visitors in the area for the Moto GP.

Inverloch parkrun welcomed parkrunners from Newcastle, Adelaide and various other parkruns across Melbourne and Gippsland.

There were 10 attendees doing their very first parkrun, and 14 finishers achieved a personal best.

This included Greg Dell, a favourite of the parkrun family.

Greg was doing his 306th parkrun and has achieved personal bests in his last two parkruns.

His last personal best was on December 23, 2017.

Greg attributes his quickened pace to his wife and trainer Shirley.

Everyone is welcome to join parkrun.

You only need register once and you can join parkrun every Saturday morning, around the world.
