Hot comp for PIBC’s Agg 2

PHILLIP Island Boardrider’s Club (PIBC’s) surfing talent and community spirit were on full display on Saturday, November 23, as PIBC hosted its Aggregate 2 competition at Cape Woolamai Surf Beach in hot conditions.

Headed up by Club Captain Ash Easton and Head Judge Adrian Sorati, Sorati led the charge with meticulous oversight and valuable judging tips shared with participants ahead of the event. His guidelines ensured a level playing field and a seamless judging process throughout the day.

The “judge a heat if you surf a heat” rule was rigorously upheld, emphasizing community collaboration and reinforcing the club’s grassroots ethos. Printed judging notes in the tent further supported both experienced and first-time judges in delivering accurate and fair results.

The competition showcased the diverse talent within PIBC, from rising young surfers to seasoned veterans, while highlighting the club’s unique ability to blend professionalism with community connection. Cape Woolamai’s stunning waves provided the perfect backdrop for a day of thrilling heats and lively beachside camaraderie.

PIBC extends its gratitude to all participants, judges, and volunteers who made Aggregate 2 a success, including photographers Peter Fogarty @peterfogartyphotography and Craig Anderson @craigando2.

As well as to sponsors San Remo Butchers for @sanremobutchers for the raffle meat tray, Quiksilver @quiksilver.anz Island Surfboards @islandsurfboards1969 and Archi Sign Makers @archisign_signmakers for the presso prizes.

With more events on the horizon for the 24/25 season, the club looks forward to continuing its tradition of celebrating surfing excellence and fostering a sense of belonging among Phillip Island’s surfing community.
