THREE days of speedway action were run and won at Nyora Raceway with an appreciative crowd treated to great racing from November 2 to 4.

The weekend’s biggest winners were the winner of both Modified Sedan memorial races Brody Chrystie, Stephen Douglas memorial event for Standard Saloons winner Wayne Sheerman, and round one winner of the Eastern Victoria Wingless Sprint series Brad Warren.

The Alan Ramsdale Memorial for Modified Sedans ran on Saturday night.

Dale Hallett, Jamie Paull, Damien Miller and Chrystie each won a heat race, with the latter setting a 10-lap record of 2:51.966.

In the 20-lap final, Chrystie took the race lead on lap two from Matt Nelson and the two raced closely early.

Chrystie wound up a more than six-second race lead, finishing ahead of Nelson on lap 20 with Felicity Roycroft in third followed by Hallett and Cameron Dike.

With the Standard Saloon memorial known as the Dougo 44, the competitors qualified to start as close to the front as possible in the 44-lap final.

Rhys Landsdown, Kacey Ingram, Sheerman and Jack Yeomans won the four heat races.

With 20 laps held in one direction before the cars switched direction and raced the other way, Sheerman held a slender lead after the first segment from Ingram, Brodie Ardley, Yeomans and Harry Cecil.

Ardley and Yeomans could not maintain their positions as their cars suffered breakdowns and at the end of the second 20 laps, Sheerman won by almost two seconds from Ingram, Harry Cecil, his brother Owen Cecil and Landsdown to claim a second win in the memorial.

Nathan Miles and Axel Robinson won heat races in the Junior Sedans whilst New Star-graded driver Luke Morrison would win his class and the overall final on night one.

Morrison in New Stars defeated Cruz Abela and Darcy Dannatt with Miles winning top stars ahead of Tyson Heaphy and Axel Robinson.

Also competing were Outlaw Karts seniors and juniors.

In the senior racing, Jamie Payne, Sam Payne and Megan Payne all won heat races with Jamie Payne rolling over in the last heat.

In the final, Chris Nankiville stormed to victory in front of Marcus Reddecliffe, Sam Payne, Megan Payne and Harry Stewart.

In the juniors, Bodhi Doig was the standout driver, and he defeated Ashton Tuckett and Freddie Carrigy.

Onto night two, and the Sport Sedans, Wingless Sprints and Dirt Modifieds joined the Standard Saloons and Modified Sedans.

Chris Aarts and Jordan Haley both won a qualifying heat race in the Sport Sedans before Jack Chiminello stormed to victory in the final ahead of Aarts and Haley.

Reddcliffe and Daryl Hickson won heat races in the Dirt Modifieds before Mornington man Michael Ardley claimed a win in the 15-lap mini-feature.

Ardley passed Hickson on lap four to lead from there to the conclusion with Hickson finishing second in front of Matt Reddecliffe, rookie Jack Smith and Rodin Blackman,
Standard Saloon drivers raced for the Miles Cup on their second night of competition.

Gus Argoon arrived having competed in Bairnsdale the night before and he started the night with a win.

Ingram, Lansdown and Harry Cecil rounded out the winners in the heat racing.

A 30-lap final lay ahead before a winner could be found.

The race began with Harry Cecil leading the way.

When Cecil’s car succumbed to damage, Ingram moved to the lead.

Ingram’s own run to victory ended on lap 18 and Ardley from Warragul hit the front and went on to win from Chris Miles, Owen Cecil, Dean Spring and Justin Cadman.

The margin on victory between first and second was just .600 of a second.

Modified Sedans competed in the Russell Bent Memorial on Sunday night and qualifying race wins went the way of Brad Warren, Chrystie twice and then Warren a second time.

Chrystie then led all the way in the memorial final to win ahead of Warren, Caleb Lincoln, Dike and Hallett.

Competition for the Victorian Wingless Sprints association points event on Sunday was run for more than 20 competitors across six heats where they all competed in two each.

Kai Malley, Thomas McDonald, Adin Robertson, Jack Regan, Travis Millar and Christopher Temby were all winners, setting up the 25-lap final.

Seventeen of 19 starters finished the final with Millar winning by one and a half seconds in front of Temby, McDonald, Jake Warren and Malley.

Sports Sedans raced on Monday night for their second night of the weekend with Braidan Webster of Inverloch winning the two heat races and the final.

Webster defeated Bree Simpson, Jordan Haley, Trish Dike and Ray Gould after stewards penalised Dike for a passing move that involved contact.

Junior Sedans also competed for a second night with Top Star racer Steane Cosson winning the three heat races before the final event.

In the final, Cosson, Nathan Miles and Jaylen Knight were in a tight scrap before Cosson sustained damage to his car in a racing incident.

Knight won Top Stars from Miles and Robinson, whilst for a second night in succession Luke Morrison would win the New Stars, this time from Dannatt and Abela.

Hickson and Ardley won heat races on the way to the 20-lap Dirt Modified final.

Ardley claimed pole after beating Matt Reddecliffe in a runoff for the top starting spot.

Ardley led every lap of the feature event to beat Hickson, Matt Reddecliffe, Tyler Scott and Shane Ardley.

Wingless Sprints raced in round one of the Eastern Victoria Series on November 4 with Gavin Fitzpatrick, Millar and Temby winning heats in the first round, and Clyde-based racer Ebony Hobson,

Brad Warren and Lang Lang’s Ben Hodge won races in the second round of qualifying.
