THE Phillip Island Boardriders Club (PIBC) held an exciting and successful Longboard 3 competition on Saturday, December 21, surfing two iconic locations in Cat Bay.
The event kicked off with Round 1 at Left Point, a break that hadn’t been surfed in a PIBC competition since the 1960s. Round 2 then moved to Shelly’s as the tide came in.
The competition was a fantastic showcase of talent and passion, thanks to the efforts of the Longboard Coordinator Nala Taylor and her team, as well as Head Judge Elena Bravou, who travelled from the west coast to oversee the judging and keep the scale consistent all day.
A big thank you also goes to sponsors Rip Curl Phillip Island, Zev Landes, Pacific Longboarder Magazine, Island Surfboards and artist artist Zev Landes, for their generous prize contributions, as well as to photographers Andrew Lidsey and Craig Anderson for capturing the incredible moments through photography.
