THE opening round of the 2025 Victorian Longboard Titles begins this weekend on Phillip Island as the race for wildcards into Bells Beach Longboard Classic World Tour Event kicks off.

The two-part series will take place on Phillip Island before heading to Point Impossible on the Surf Coast in May. The top Open and Open Female competitor at the conclusion of the series will be awarded a wildcard into the 2025 Bells Beach Longboard Classic in September.

The series will also be the key selection criteria for inclusion in the Victorian State Team heading to the Australian Longboard Titles in July on the Tweed Coast, NSW.

“We are looking forward to seeing the best of the best in Victoria take part in the 2025 Victorian Longboard Titles,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

“The pathway we have created from State Titles to the WSL Bells Beach Longboard Classic is something we are very proud of, and is an amazing opportunity for longboarders in the state.”

“Good luck to all competitors competing in the opening round of the series this weekend on Phillip Island.”

Competitors to watch across the weekend include former State Title holders, Ben Considine (Barwon Heads), Bea Conroy (Pt Lonsdale), Eglantine Balland (Mornington Peninsula) and Greg Brown (Lorne), along with local surfers Natalie Van Der Heyden (Phillip Island) and Graeme Burgan (Phillip Island).

Offshore conditions are expected across the weekend with fun waves across the beaches.

First call on Saturday will be at Cape Woolamai at 7am for a 7.15am start. Competitors are advised to join the Whatsapp group for the call in the morning.
