SGB represented far and wide

1 min read

IT WAS a busy weekend for SGB swimmers chasing times for the upcoming State Championships.

Friday night found some of them distance swimming, with many of the swimmers attending meets with just one race – the 400m, 800m or 1500m at locations including MSAC and Warragul.

For several of them, it was their first time at the longer distance.

There were some impressive times swum by many SGB representatives, including some big PBs.

Saturday then saw a small group of 13 swimmers and coach Caiden attend GSI 7 hosted by Sale Swimming Club.

Hot, humid and windy conditions made for a warm outdoor meet, but the swimmers gave it their best in the trying conditions, and it was with relief they dived in for each race, escaping the heat.

Several other swimmers raced at events across Melbourne trying to get the times they wanted.

Also in Melbourne, two junior squad swimmers completed a triathlon on Sunday, an amazing achievement by Ryan and Matthew.

The club encourages swimmers to compete in other events such as this and the upcoming Bass Coast Series.
