Showjumper crowned a champion

RHYLL’S Olivia Curtain enjoyed success during her three-week road journey to Queensland and New South Wales for Showjumping Winter Shows.

Olivia’s family is extremely proud of her, as she was not only the Champion in Queensland at the Festival of Showjumping – Children’s Championship 1.15m on mare Ngahiwi Lady Blu (11-year-old grey mare) – she also won the FEI Children’s Classic Silver Tour Championship – 1.10m on her other new mare Yalambi’s Luciana (eight-year-old chestnut mare) – in New South Wales at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

Olivia and her family travelled to Queensland and New South Wales without much expectation, as Olivia has only had Ngahiwi Lady Blu for four months and Yalamabi’s Luciana for five months, after moving off her two ponies earlier this year – a major change.

Olivia has formed an incredible bond quickly, especially for someone who just turned 13 and is competing against a higher age level.

In addition, Olivia will represent her school for the third year in a row at the Australian Interschool Nationals in Tamworth in late September.

She is now back on the farm at Rhyll to prepare for the next shows in Willinga, Bateman’s Bay and Tamworth in September.

Olivia would like to thank her sponsors Melbourne Brick and Geohex, along with her coaches Frida and Phil from Lever Equestrian.
