Newhaven College is excited to announce Year 9 Scholarship places for 2025. The dynamic and dedicated Newhaven Year 9 staff work to shape and enhance the educational journey of our Year 9 students. The program includes specialised curriculum that brings the immediate and wider world to life. The curriculum looks different from the other year levels. Core subjects are continued, and new ones are introduced. All subjects are approached using methods that connect students with the world around them and this innovative program sparks student engagement with learning.
Head of Year 9, Sam Foura, has been entrusted with fostering an enriching and supportive learning environment, ensuring that students continue to thrive academically, socially and emotionally during this crucial stage of their education. “Our program aims to challenge students and build understanding and expertise through creating meaningful experiential learning opportunities throughout the Bass Coast and beyond,” he says of the program.
Students and faculty are situated in a unique learning space within the specially constructed Year 9 Environmental Centre. The bespoke facility is set away from the main College campus and features picturesque views of Westernport Bay. The facility is specifically designed to foster outdoor education, sustainability and hands-on learning, all of which lie at the heart of the Year 9 experience.
Newhaven College is calling for applications for all students entering Year 9 in 2025 who can demonstrate outstanding abilities across a broad range of areas including academic, sporting, performing arts, leadership and community involvement.
