Power restored for schools on Phillip Island

1 min read

POWER is back on ahead of time for Phillip Island with students set to return to class tomorrow.

After losing power last night (Tuesday, February 13), residents were left in wonder this morning on whether schools were open today.

A number of public primary schools in the region were accessible, but with no communication it was at the discretion of the parents on whether or not students stayed onsite. However, the AusNet connection has returned within the hour across Phillip Island, San Remo and across to Wonthaggi, with local primary schools from Phillip Island to Wonthaggi sharing that students will return to onsite learning tomorrow.

With internet connections slowly back up and running, schools may expect disruption to normal services.

Parents are urged to keep an eye out on their school's online platform for further updates, as connections are slowly restoring.
